RFID, the Next Main Stream, Are You Ready?
In the wake of RFID concept booming in China for Wal-Mart request its first 100 suppliers using RFID before Jan 1 st 2006 in 2003, a special RFID development fund was established by Ministry of Information Industry in 2005 and, the first four national RFID pilot project were sponsored under ¡°Golden-Card Project¡± start-up in Mar 2006, the ¡°White Paper of China RFID Technology Policy¡± was formulated by 15 national ministries and committees jointly, which contains the planning and policy directory of RFID development in June 2006.All those proves that RFID industry has successfully turn from wait-and-see period into testing application period.
For the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics, RFID has been assured to be used in food tracking and forgery prevention for tickets and certificates; The RFID pilot projects have been launched in the fields of "all-in-one card" for fare payment system, electronic tickets and forgery prevention for commodities, compulsory inspection of special equipment, security management, animal/plant electronic identification, and modern logistics management. RFID is penetrating in all fields in China . According to the related research report, the market scale for RFID in China is expected to exceed to 8 billion RMB (USD1 billion) in 2008.
