Attendee Analysis of the 5th China (Beijing) RFID International Summits
As organizer of the 5th RFID International Summits (short for the 5th Summits), the RFID China Alliance (short for the Alliance) hand out lots of questionnaries for investigation, this was greatly supported by the visitors and attendees. Hence, the regain yield of the questionary increased much compared with the form summits. With the reference of the first hand investigation, the Alliance will be certain to host a better 6th China RFID international Summits in 2008.
Why did people come to the 5th Summits(multiple choice): The investigation told us that more than 50% people were interested in our topics, which implied that the Alliance’s market oriented sub-forum with specific industrial topic – which also was the first time in the RFID Exhibition in China – has gained most people’s recognition. In 2008, the China 6th RFID International Summits will continue this market oriented model and select the proper topics.
At the same time, about half people said that they came for exchanging opinions and ideas, and for better business opportunities, as the Summits hosted by the Alliance possesses a quite high reputation, and has gained business people’s popular confidence.
In fact, the number of exhibitors in the 5th Summits reached to 24, 8 exhibitors or 1/3 more than the last summits. This figure was quite noticeable as the domestic market was still at a beginning step. Also, this figure implied that China’s RFID market is keeping moving forward, and that the Alliance’s promotion has had realistic effect which in turn, improved the quality and reputation of the Alliance. The summits hosted by the Alliance showed more merits on its own brand. As a result, the Summits attracted both the traditional and non-traditional RFID companies came to exhibit in the Exhibition and invest in RFID industry.
Evaluation of the 5th Summis(Odd choice): The 5th Summits was divided into four sub-forums. No matter the individual sub-forum or the whole summits, both were very successful. In general, the satisfaction percentage reached to 97.83%, including 17.51% top satisfied people, 50.37% greatly satisfied people and 29.95% satisfied people. The un-satisfaction percentage was only 2.17%.
The nearly 100% satisfaction made out that the Alliance succeeded in selecting the topics in this summits because the Alliance grasped the pulse of the domestic RFID market. Thus, the 5th Summits fulfilled the visitors and attendees, suppliers and buyers’ requirements.
Following is the statistics of the individual satisfaction of four sub Forums.
Transportation Management Forum: The Alliance collected 132 pieces of questionary in this sub forum, the biggest figure of the four forums. That reflected that the number of attendee of this sub forum is also the largest one of all the four, and also implied that the transportation market had a great demand of RFID technology.
Accurately, the RFID China Alliance grasped the market demands in accordance with China’s reality, inviting the related officers from the Ministry of Communications P.R.C to make speech in the 5th Summits in order to make out the RFID application & developing direction so that help the company avoid detouring and find out the market entrance.
Food Safety & Health Care Forum: It is an honor for the Alliance to invite the IT giant Intel, the senior RFID player Alien and the QED System’s President to join the 5th Summits. These famous international companies brought us the art of state technologies and detailed cases which were brand new to the audience. Their familiarity to China’s domestic market offered the potential customers a bright future, but also the advanced experiences to the domestic players.
Meanwhile, the general satisfaction reached to 98.88%, the highest figure among the four sub forums.
Library Management Forum: To make this sub forum a great success, the RFID China Alliance enhanced the communication with the related offices for preparation, especially the library management offices. The Alliance had invited the officers from the China National Library and Local libraries to attend the 5th Summits. With view to guaranteeing the invited officers could ensure their attendance and make the audience a perfect speech, the Alliance did not yield to their title but focus on their topic. At last, the Alliance prepared a list of officers who were familiar with the market demands and also in a important position in their offices.
Especially, the China National Library detailed the phase 2 of the building of the National Library which will use RFID as its informatization step. The introduction directed the customers a clear demand, which made their speech a supplying-receiving conference. Due to the background of the speakers from the National Library, their introduction was more like a bid introduction of phase 2 of the National Library. Hence, all the audience warmly welcomed and actively reacted to their introduction. The general satisfaction percentage is as high as 98%, and more, the number of top satisfied people was 22%, the highest of all the four sub forum.
China Mainland & Hong Kong RFID Exchange Conference: As China’s one of the most important technology innovation base and pioneer of the application of new technology, the Hong Kong SAR government invested more than HK$400 million in 2006 fiscal year. The RFID luggage management application in HK airport made the oriental pearl once again, ride in the forward of the technology tide around the world.
Since the special position of Hong Kong in China’s RFID industry, the RFID China Alliance had invited friends from both Hong Kong and China Mainland to discuss the development of China’s RFID industry. Both the central government and HK government both paid much attention to the forum though the latter was only a non-governmental exchange. The attendee comprise officers from Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies (was raised by the HK Gov.) and from Ministry of Science & Technology. As the sufficient preparation and reliable project plan, some companies reached cooperative agreement at once in this forum.
Due to the Alliance’s excellent performance and outstanding preparation, even the HK representatives who always emphasize on the effect and efficiency also spoke highly on this sub forum, and the general satisfactory percentage was 97.73%.
Your opinion on the exchanging effect in this Summits(Odd choice): Although the 5th Summits was an business conference focus on the market, over 90% people still felt satisfaction on the exchanging effects.
Your opinion on the schedule of the 5th Summits(Odd choice): Although the visitors and attendees had different objectives and tastes, still, more than 90% visitors were satisfied with the Summits’ schedule. In fact, the Alliance is happy to improve the time value and efficiency for all the visitors in this business society.
How did you know the 5th Summits(Multiply choice): In order to make more people know the RFID technology and the 5th Summits, the Alliance made even more efforts on publication to the potential customers and the common people. The 10 odd methods included email invitation, sponsors’ invitation, homepage, friends recommendation, web medias and so on. At last, the number of visitors and attendees reached to a satisfactory level.
Would you like to visit the 6th Summits(Odd choice): Among the investigated people, 96.99% said they would like to join the 6th China RFID International Summits, including 87 people expressed top interesting, amount 65.41%, which was nearly 2/3 of all the investigated people. All the figures showed that the 5th Summits was quite successful, not only met the exhibitors’ requirements, but also taught a lot to the visitors and attendees who would like to learn more and to cooperate with the Alliance. And it is sure that the Summits is, and always be a Multiple Win stage to the development of the RFID industry, the RFID players and the summits itself. Which speaker did you prefer most: Among all the speakers, Mr. Jeffery Zhu was the most popular one. 25.64% audience preferred his speech. The most welcomed officer as well as the second popular speaker was Ms. Wei Feng from the Ministry of Communications.
What do you want to know in the next Summits? In general, people would like to know the following five aspects: standards, national policy, technology, market and cases. In details, 8.20% people wanted to know more about standard, 3.27% for national policy, 6.56% for technology, 4.10% for market and most people would like to learn and understand more cases. The figure was as high as 77.8%.
At the same time, audience who would like to learn more cases came from different industries so that their demands were different. The analysis of their background is as follows:
The upper pie told us most audience would like to learn more about different cases. Especially, when China’s RFID industry was still at the beginning step, all kinds of cases could pilot the application and offer the players valuable experience. This time, the Alliance invited many business experts, and their speech impacted the audience so heavily that they had more desire to understand RFID. Moreover, the Alliance will host more similar sub forums in the 6th Summits to meet different people from all sorts of industries, with a careful review of this Summits.
