谭崇仁教授
香港物流及供应链管理应用技术研发中心
谭崇仁教授是香港物流及供应链管理应用技术研发中心(LSCM研发中心)的行政总裁，LSCM研发中心由香港政府創新科技署撥款資助並於二OO六年四月成立，LSCM研发中心致力于研發香港及珠三角地区物流及供应链管理行业相关技术解决方案。谭教授同时也是香港大学电子商业科技研究所(ETI)的创始人及总监。
谭教授目前的兴趣是开发适用于大中华地区的电子商业技术及相关解决方案。包括物流及供应链管理技术和解决方案，面向服務的應用平台, 互联网基础设施、商業智能, 射頻識別及無綫應用及安全技術,及其他有關大中华地区的电子商业相关技术解决方案。谭教授並十分活躍於推廣及採用商务技术并實用於各公众和私人企业包括香港和珠三角地区。
在 1999 年 9 月担任ETI总监之前，谭教授在IBM担任应用系统研究部高级经理，负责管理与电子商务相关的研究活动。1997年，谭教授领导的深蓝课题组创造了人类史上首次计算机程序击败国际象棋大师卡斯帕洛夫 （Kasparov）的新纪录。谭教授主要研究领域包括高性能计算机系统的架构与设计开发，以及这些系统在电子商务解决方案中的应用，它的研究成果导致了 IBM RS6000 并行计算机系列的诞生。
谭教授活跃于工业界和学术界，被多间国际技术和学术研究机构邀请担任顾问。他被重庆大学、华中科技大学, 南中国科技大學和哈尔滨工业大学聘为兼职教授；被浙江大学聘为客座教授及同時担任香港大學的計算機科學和商學院客座IBM教授。谭教授还担任上海交通大学新e代技术研究中心董事。此外，他还是上海市科学技术委员会上海城市网格项目的顾问专家。
谭崇仁教授是 ACM 院士、香港工程学院院士、IBM 深度计算研究院发起管理成员。
谭教授1963年毕业于美国西雅图大学，取得电子工程学学士学位。1969年取得纽约哥伦比亚大学工程科学博士学位。

Mr. Yong graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore and obtained a Masters of Business Administration from the Brunel University of United Kingdom. Prior to joining 3M, he was very much involved in System Integration across a multitude of disciplines in the main vertical markets of Transportation (Air, Land , Sea), Telecommunications, Banking and Finance, Power Production and Industry, HealthCare and Service. Some of his involvement in RFID applications include the first in the world multi-lane and multi-situational Electronic Road Pricing System for Singapore where vehicles are charged for road usage through transponders ( In-Vehicle Units) mounted on the windscreens.
Currently employed as a Business Development Manager in 3M, Mr. Yong is responsible for Track and Trace and Security Systems Business Development & Management activities in Asia Pacific Region. He is much involved in the field of Library Detection and Management Systems, Asset Tracking and RFID based solutions as well as Identification and Authentication Solutions (Border Control and Management Systems, Passport readers, Security laminates, Identity cards-smartcard and non-smartcard based and Secure Document Issuance System). He has worked closely with a number of librarians and is engaged with several key installations of RFID based library security and management systems in the region. He will share with us an insight into the usage of RFID in Libraries, the issues, concerns, trends, interoperability and standardization.

Jerry C. Garrett

Jerry C. Garrett is the CEO of Chung Nam Electronics and the Deputy Managing Director of the Chungnam Corporation in Hong Kong. He is responsible for the growth of Chung Nam Electronics’ investments and product development in WiFi technologies and RFID systems. Chung Nam Electronics is the largest manufacturer of RFID equipment in China. In Chungnam Corporation, Mr. Garrett’s primary roles include active participation in strategic planning, corporate portfolio investments and operational management of the corporations’ 35 independent companies.
Mr. Garrett has been actively involved in the commercialization of technologies in the US and Asia for over 32 years. He has served as a senior executive and Board Member in various start ups and Fortune 500 International companies.
In his preceding position, Mr. Garrett was the Chief Operating Officer of Savi Technology, Sunnyvale California from 1998 until 2001. In that role, he was actively involved in the commercial adoption of RFID technology by major commercial industries and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Prior to that position, Mr. Garrett was the President and CEO of ALPS Electric USA, Incorporated in San Jose, California. ALPS Electric USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of ALPS Electric Limited in Tokyo, Japan. He held management positions in ALPS from 1986 until 1995.?? Among his major achievements were the commercialization of numerous computer input device technologies, production maturity of small form factor disk drives and the development of dual-mode CDMA transceivers.
Mr. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Business Administration degree.

Harmon serves as the president of an organization that provides standards development, educational, advisory, and systems design services; focusing primarily on electronic commerce/business technologies, including the disciplines of bar code technology, two-dimensional symbols, electronic data interchange (EDI), radio-frequency communications, biometrics, and radio-frequency identification.

John Hammond is currently Director Business Development for CLS Communication Hong Kong Ltd a Swiss based Company engaged in Corporate Language Services on a global scale in the Financial, Life Sciences, Logistics and Legal sectors.
He retired from Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) in September 2006, where he was Manager, Trade, Supply Chain and Logistics Integration responsible for product development of supply chain and logistics related services as a member of the Central Trade Product Management Team.
He joined Standard Chartered in Jan 1999 after 10 years with AT&T in Asia Pacific as Director Trade and Transportation Services. He began his career in the Port of Felixstowe UK where he held a number of posts including CEO of the CFS East Anglia Freight Terminal, and 5 years as CEO of the Community IT Company MCP Plc. well known for the development of FCP80 and Destin8 the “paperless port” systems used in several UK ports.
John left MCP in ’89 to join AT&T in Australia where he worked closely with Tradegate, the Logistics Industry and the Customs Brokers.
With over 40 years of electronic commerce experience in logistics and supply chain management, he currently serves as "Shepherd" to the E-Logistics group of the Hong Kong SAR Government LOGSCOUNCIL. In that role he also acts as a Government appointed Non Executive Director of the DTTN Company (Digital Trade and Transportation Network Ltd). The DTTN is a neutral community owned platform that provides interconnection among the trade, logistics and finance industries to facilitate information flow and enhance efficiency. It will facilitate the Business Process Interconnect (BPI) requirements of industry and provide a platform to promote IT use and development of new business opportunities in Hong Kong and China.
He has a similar Government appointment with the Hong Kong Logistics and Supply Chain Management R& D Centre (LSCM). Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies is established with funding support from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Mr. Hammond is a Round Table Member and the Treasurer of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
